Screen Printing is a technique that uses a fine mesh to print onto a surface. Sections of the mesh are blocked out and a squeegee is pulled across to put ink onto the surface. Several screens can be used to lay down multiple colours on the same print.

About the artist : Alison Read is an honours graduate of Newcastle University with a degree in fine art. Her quirky character filled artwork has always been highly popular at the Jardine Gallery and makes many customers smile. Alison’s love for wildlife easily shows through in her pieces. She has had her work published noticeably in “The Printmakers Cat” by Alan Marshall
