Eric Wilson has established himself as one of Britain’s leading wildlife artists, a multi-award winner whose paintings are now widely collected throughout the world.
His artistic ability was evident from his earliest schooldays; “Eric has an artistic talent way beyond his years” wrote his art teacher in 1967. As a child of Scottish parentage, Eric would spend his formative years roaming the highland mountains of Scotland. It was here that Eric’s love of wild places and the wildlife it contained was born.
Eric Wilson has exhibited widely in London, Germany and the United States. While exhibiting at the prestigious Florida Wildlife and Western Art Exposition and The National Exhibition of Wildlife Art his work received awards. His paintings have appeared in magazines and books such as “The Best of Wildlife Art” and “Keys to Painting Fur and Feathers”, by North Light Books.
Eric Wilson has done commissioned work for companies such as the Bradford Exchange. Original paintings are auctioned by Christies in London and sold through private commission. The gallery stocks a selection of Eric’s limited edition giclee prints.
Inspriration and Travel
Accuracy and attention to detail are hallmarks of Eric’s work. His adventurous research trips take him to some of the remotest wilderness areas on the planet. Eric has had the privilege to see gorillas, tigers, polar and grizzly bears along with many African animals in the wild. He was once charged by a black rhino while out doing a photography shoot with a guide in Zimbabwe! He also swam with Killer Whales off the coast of Vancouver Island.
