Woodcut is a relief printing technique. The artist gouges out areas they wish to remain white from a piece of wood and then ink the surface to print.

About the artist : Alison Read is an honours graduate of Newcastle University with a degree in fine art. Her quirky character filled artwork has always been highly popular at the Jardine Gallery and makes many customers smile. Alison’s love for wildlife easily shows through in her pieces. She has had her work published noticeably in “The Printmakers Cat” by Alan Marshall
