About the Artist : Stella Mays always works in pastel, creating large paintings that capture not only the animals she loves to study but also the light and texture.

Stella Mays won the BBC wildlife artist of the Year with her picture “Amur Ambush” in 2011.  She then won the Animals in Action category of the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year show in 2012 with “Spoilt for Choice”. In 2013 Stella was the Runner Up in the overall competition for the David Shepherd Wildlife Awards with her original of “High Life”.
