Relief Print – A relief print is a printmaking technique where the surface is carved to create a raised design. The inked block is then pressed onto paper or fabric, transferring the image, which is a mirror image of the design on the block.
About the artist : Alison Read is an honours graduate of Newcastle University with a degree in fine art. Her quirky character filled artwork has always been highly popular at the Jardine Gallery and makes many customers smile. Alison’s love for wildlife easily shows through in her pieces. She has had her work published noticeably in “The Printmakers Cat” by Alan Marshall
