Helen Welsh very sadly passed away in October 2024. The gallery will continue to exhibit some of her pictures on the request of her husband.
Helen lived in rural Coupar Angus surrounded by the beautiful Perthshire landscape and got great pleasure from the everyday things of the Scottish countryside. With her paintbrush she tried to capture the light and movement of all the everyday things she encounters whether it be an unsuspecting deer or hedgerow flowers floating on the breeze.
In 1973 she moved to Tayside from her native Aberdeenshire home, where she lived on the family farm, to start her career in illustration – and worked full time as an illustrator until 2010 now working freelance.
Helen has successfully exhibited her artwork in various galleries throughout Scotland since 1987 selling to both home and abroad. She was accepted to exhibit at the 2016 RSW Summer Exhibition in The Meffan, Forfar.
