Gordon Corrins

Gordon is a self-taught artist based in Dollar, Clackmannanshire, originally from Bellshill he trained as a Graphic Designer which has been his main employment for the last twenty years. Gordon was shortlisted for the second David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year awards in 2009 with an experimental piece depicting a Sperm Whale.

Gordon combines several years of experience and a desire to try various techniques and mediums in his work, he now uses mainly a combination of Claybord, fluid acrylics and erasing techniques to achieve the desired finish on his work.

Although Gordon has been commissioned to do portrait work, architecture and pet portraits his main passion lies in painting wildlife. A keen supporter of the Cairngorms Wildcat Trust and other animal charities Gordon’s ambitions lie in creating work that will make a difference and project the plight of endangered species into the public domain.
