Martin Herbert
Martin Herbert is a full time professional artist living and working in Mid Wales, UK. He produces figurative and abstract work in both traditional and digital media. He is a founder of the British Visionary Artists Group and a member of the Society for Art of Imagination.
The work on this website is not produced by computers. It is produced by the artist using computer software, primarily 'XenoDream', an innovative 3D fractal software package from publishers Sterling Thornton. I have created many images which seem to represent exotic flora or miscroscopic sea creatures, since fractal geometry often echoes nature in these areas, and have used colour rendering techniques reminiscent of hand tinted lithographic botanical illustrations from the 19th Century. The results are pictures of life-forms which do not exist here and now, but may exist somewhere and somewhen.
